Xu Shaohua, Member of Standing Committee and Executive Vice Governor of Guangdong Province Witnessed MIC Signing Ceremony

On May 3rd, Xu Shaohua, Member of Standing Committee and Executive Vice Governor of Guangdong Province met Kelvin· Turner, Global COO of Microsoft in Guangzhou. Economic and Information Commission of Guangdong officially signed strategic cooperative MOU with Microsoft (China). Under the witness of leaders and guests including  Xu Shaohua, Member of Standing Committee and Executive Vice Governor of Guangdong Province, Lin Ying, Deputy Secretary General of Guangdong Government, Zou Sheng, Deputy Director of Economic and Information Commission of Guangdong and Kelvin· Turner, Global COO of Microsoft, WIOT successfully signed MIC Cooperation Agreement with Microsoft. According to the agreement, WIOT was exclusively authorized to build 2 MIC in Guangdong Province within 3 years. By making use of global influence of Microsoft, relying on resource advantages of Guangdong and WIOT, basing on technological platform that relies on innovation center and by means of talent cultivation, enterprise incubation and industry cultivation, the MIC will promote industrial agglomeration and economic development of the region.

Xu Shaohua, Executive Vice Governor said that industrialization and urbanization of Guangdong Province would definitely use informatization as impetus and carrier. Promoting cloud computing and cloud service are directions of government’s work in the future.

In terms of strategic cooperation between WIOT and Microsoft, Kelvin· Turner, Global COO of Microsoft said that the establishment of MIC would further promote the establishment of local IT eco-system as well as push technological development of Microsoft and its partners. As for Microsoft, the establishment of MIC is a milestone and iconic event, which would clarify direction for future development of Microsoft in Guangdong Province. 

Kalvin Ma, Chairman of WIOT Technology Group Co., Ltd. also considered that MIC was a new trial for WIOT in strategic investment. Through establishment of MIC and market-sharing platform, WIOT could provide technological supports and services for enterprises entering the IOT Information Park of WIOT, which would give play to industrial chain synergistic effect and further promote industrial agglomeration in Shunde District.
