On April 8, 2011, Guangdong IOT Industrial Application Base was launched. 

On February 16, 2012, the Opening Ceremony of WIOT IOT Information Industrial Park was held. Vice Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the PRC, Mr. Yang Xueshan attended the opening ceremony.

On April 25, 2012, under the witness of Mr. Qiu Baoxing, the Vice Minister of Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of the PRC (MOHURD), WIOT jointly launched the “National Smart City Pilot Model” project with MOHURD and Lecong Government.

On September 9, 2012, the Incubator in the Demonstration Zone of Guangdong WIOT IOT Information Industrial Park went into operation. The BUAA Advanced Technology Southern Industrial Base officially entered the Park. The 1st Incubator Economic & Youth Innovation & Startup Contest of Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou was held the same date.

On May 3, 2013, under the witness of Mr. Xu Shaohua, Executive Vice Governor of Guangdong Provincial Government, WIOT signed a cooperative agreement with Microsoft to jointly develop the innovative technology and industry cluster centers (MIC). Microsoft will work exclusively with WIOT to build two MICs in Guangdong in the next 3 years.

On July 7, 2013, the Governor of Guangdong Province, Mr. Zhu Xiaodan awarded the Expert Certificate of Guangdong IOT Experts Committee to the CEO of WIOT, Mr. Yan Feng.

On September 10, 2013, WIOT started the construction of the NEXTCITY, which is the industrial symbiont.

On November 28, 2013, WIOT signed an agreement with University of Macau.

On November 20, 2013, the Vice Minister of Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the PRC, Mr. Yang Xueshan and his delegation visited WIOT.

On February 12, 2014, under the witness of Mr. Orban Victor, the Hungarian Prime Minister, the Chairman of WIOT Mr. Kalvin Ma signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Hungarian Evopro Group.

On March 23 – 28, 2014, led by 4 senior officials of Hungarian government, including Dr. Reka Szemerkenyi, the Chief Foreign and Security Policy Adviser to the Prime Minister of Hungary, the Hungarian Delegation, which consists of 40 senior executives of 21 enterprises, visited WIOT and matched with over 100 Foshan enterprises. On March 26, WIOT signed strategic cooperation framework agreements with 19 Hungarian enterprises including TESCO. 3 local enterprises of IOT industry signed agreements with some of the Hungarian enterprises.

On June 30, 2014, Guangdong Provincial Department of Science and Technology officially affirmed Guangdong WIOT IOT Scientific and Technological Enterprises Incubator as the cultivation unit of National Scientific and Technological Enterprise.

On August 25, 2014, WIOT signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Hungarian National Trading House in Hungary.

On September 23, 2014, the CEO of WIOT Mr. Yan Feng signed the Smart City Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement with Dr. Yan Jingyu, the president of Smart City System Service (China) Co., Ltd. Of Smart China Group.

In September 2014, in the 4th Canton & Hong Kong IOT Contest, which was jointly held by Guangdong RFID Public Technology Support Center, Guangdong IOT Industrial Alliance and GS1 Hong Kong and under the guidance of the Economic & Information Commission of Guangdong Province and the Office of the Government Chief Information Officer of Hong Kong, WIOT Industrial Park won the prize of The Best Park in Guangdong.

On November 15, 2014, the delegation of National Innovation Office of Hungary visited WIOT, and a Signing Ceremony was held between NIH and WIOT.
